How I Saved My Neurodiverse Marriage by Changing Myself. Living in a neurodiverse marriage can be lonely and confusing—especially for the neurotypical (NT) partner. Many women suffer in silence, overwhelmed by emotional deprivation, miscommunication, and a constant sense of being unseen. This experience is known as Cassandra Syndrome, and I’ve lived it.

How I Saved My Neurodiverse Marriage by Changing Myself
For years, I acted out my pain—yelling, cursing, threatening divorce, blaming, and using my husband’s Asperger’s as an excuse to avoid looking at my own behavior. I could teach self-regulation, but I didn’t know how to live it. I was hurting—and I hurt him.
Learning to self-regulate was a process. A hard one. But in doing the inner work, I discovered something painful and healing: I was a major part of the problem. In retrospect, I had been an abusive partner. My husband, who had quietly endured, had one foot out the door—just as I had always threatened.
Today, I’m grounded. I’ve changed. My marriage is stronger, and so are all of my relationships. That transformation began with two essential skills:

1. Self-Regulation
Pause. Reflect. Respond instead of react. It’s not easy, but it’s powerful. You can learn to hold space for your feelings without acting them out. Meditating and keeping a journal is a good way to start.

2. Communication Tools: The 3 C’s
Clear, compassionate dialogue built on Communication, Clarity, and Connection. When you stop blaming and start communicating, everything shifts.
Let me help you start where it truly begins—with you. When you make the necessary changes, things will get better.
You’re not broken. You’re becoming.
