Neurodiverse Marriage: Work with Someone Who’s Been There. If you’re in a neurodiverse marriage, you may feel emotionally starved, misunderstood, or just plain exhausted. I understand—because I’ve lived it. For the first 13 years of my marriage, I struggled with intense disconnection without realizing my husband was on the autism spectrum.

Neurodiverse Marriage: Work with Someone Who’s Been There
Navigating a neurodiverse marriage—especially as the neurotypical partner—can feel confusing, lonely, and overwhelming. I know this firsthand. For over a decade, I lived with severe emotional deprivation (Cassandra symptoms) before my husband and I discovered he was on the autism spectrum. That insight changed everything.
I fell in love with him for his kindness, calm nature, and loyalty. But without the right tools, our differences created disconnect. Today, with over 25 years of marriage and professional expertise, I help neurodiverse couples like us rebuild what’s been lost by focusing on the 3 C’s: Communication, Clarity, and Connection. My approach is both personal and professional, rooted in lived experience and clinical expertise.
