Counseling For LGBT Population

Counseling For LGBT Population.  Being LGBT can add additional layers of complexity and nuance to everyday life issues & problems.  As a Marriage Counselor there are similarities and differences that I do understand and can appreciate.  On June 27, 2015 The Supreme Court finds Gay Couples the fundamental right to marry which puts into effect a law that finally validates a range of government benefits to legally married same-sex couples.

Having a Gay brother who I hold dear to my heart and many close friends and colleagues who are LGBT, I offer a supportive and judgment-free place to look at how your sexuality & lifestyle impact all areas of your life:  work, friendships, faith, relationships, parent/child dynamics, etc.  As a Marriage Counselor who works with Couples in Couples Counseling I appreciate and have empathy for the challenges of those similarities and differences as you assimilate and integrate into the many facets of our society.

Whether you’re struggling with coming out, being part of a couple, parenting your own or your partner’s children, work stresses, or some other issue, I can help you figure out how to make changes that maintain your dignity, your individuality, and your integrity while getting you what you need and want.

As more and more LGBT couples marry they will need resources to help them move forward in a world that will continue to need to be educated on the sensitivity and diversity of the 21st Century and what the future holds for all individuals.  Learning how to help facilitate a change in attitudes, and support couples and their families will help normalize the process.

Please do not hesitate to call me at (858) 735-1139 for more information or to set up an appointment so that your life receives the helpful tools to do just that.  I look forward to talking to you.
